super smash bros brawl
Wii enthusiasts, here is something for you. The hit series Super Smash Bros Brawl is coming to the Wii! It is one of the world’s most popular franchises due to the simple fact that characters from the whole Nintendo world are incorporated into the game. Imagine playing Sonic and Pikachu against each other. Or maybe Zelda and Mario.

Yahoo gives us all the reasons anyone would want this game for himself:

1. Actually, there are over 40 reasons you want it
Link. Zelda. Snake. Mario. Samus. Sonic. Pikachu. Bowser. Kirby. Peach. Wario. Smash Bros. Brawl features a huge list of characters from classic Nintendo games — and for the first time, favorites from non-Nintendo hits like Sonic the Hedgehog and Metal Gear join the party. Each comes with special attacks, props, sound effects and signature moves. Snake has even brought along his all-important cardboard box: no Special Forces agent leaves home without it.

2. Smash yourself
Smash Bros. games usually opt for multiplayer madness over single-player content. Not so with Brawl, which includes a solo Adventure Mode called “Subspace Emissary.” Written by a designer culled from the Final Fantasy games, it’s the perfect way to hone your skills before humiliating your friends, and if you get too lonely, you can even team up with a friend to take on the evil Subspace Army cooperatively.

3. Play with the world
That’s not to say that Brawl doesn’t have plenty of multiplayer content. In fact, it has more than any other Super Smash Bros. game to date. Not only can you enjoy four-player matches on one console you can also use the Wii’s wireless networking to take on players from your Wii friends list or the world at large. You can even capture replay footage of your victories and mail it to your rivals in the ultimate of trash-talking hijinks.

Oh, there’s more – just visit Yahoo’s feature on this and read to your heart’s content. After that, order your own copy.

The Product Life of Game Controllers

Game controllers for most game consoles of PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo have become another aspect of needing to satisfy the demand for possible damages or worn out game pads today. The wearing out process is only normal considering that with the rising addiction that most gamers employ on their time in playing, they tend to wear out the buttons and the joysticks from excessive use.

Game Controllers

It is a good thing that such game controller pads are available anywhere today. Depending on the wear and tear of such controllers, people end up trying to purchase a new one once their old ones start to loose their purpose, like delayed reactions of commands once pushed and also no response coming from moving the stick pad controllers.

While some may not be inclined to buy new ones and have their old controllers fixed, it will still come to a point where the controller would evidently have to be replaced, meaning beyond repair states. For some people, it would be best to replace now rather than wait until the time comes when controllers would become a rarity.

The Legend of Zelda Lives on With Nintendo

February 16, 2007 | Posted by sharker in Arcade Games, Game Cube, Gameboy, Nintendo, Wii

The late 1980’s didn’t offer much effort in pushing for the adventure based games since it was the personal computer games that had the inside track. Link made his debut in 1987 as a small prince fighting of the forces of evil in the different levels of the game of Zelda.

Legend of Zelda

While Zelda didn’t really make it big compared to that of Mario and Donkey Kong, the original role playing gamers know what Zelda is all about. The lack of exposure and push perhaps had a bearing on such, since arcade games back then were the immediate preferences.

The journeys of Link against the evil empire of Ganon, the boss of the whole game promises to be a challenging one. With so many adversaries of monsters that mix magic and might, side games that include secret passages and games make the game entirely appealing to the hardcore role playing enthusiast. Perhaps this is why Nintendo has made it a point to have it on its roster whenever it launches new gaming consoles until this day.

Completing the Gaming Experience with Modified Controllers and Gears

January 23, 2007 | Posted by sharker in Arcade Games, Nintendo, PC, PSP, Play Station, PlayStation 2, Playstation 3, Xbox, Xbox 360

There are a lot of things an addicted gamer would prefer for his game console. Regardless if this is a PlayStation, Nintendo, Gamebox or personal computer games, add-ons in the form of steering wheel controllers, dance pads and higher capacity memory cards will always be available for expansion.

Some people would be content by merely having the basic gaming unit and satisfying themselves with the available options a game would have. But sooner or later, depending on the game genre that they are looking at, upgrades and improvements to their current setup will surely ensue.

Advanced Game Requirements

There is no question that a gaming experience would increase the ante of requirements to play the game at a higher level. Such an occurrence will only be normal because this is what game developers aim to achieve. Higher requirements in the form of required controllers and hardware requirements will only be normal. The advanced a game becomes, the higher the need for advanced requirements as well.

Nintendo’s Mario Brothers Will Forever Be a Gaming Legacy

January 7, 2007 | Posted by sharker in Arcade Games, Game Cube, Gameboy, Nintendo

Everyone is perhaps familiar with the first arcade video game that became a benchmark to which other games followed suit. Mario brothers, the tale of a plumber with the signature mustache who went down pipes to battle the evil realm of King Koopa and save the princess through different levels will always be known to most.

Super Mario Brother's Classic Arcade Game

To this day, there have been arcade games available in most of the new unleashed games courtesy of Nintendo, the original founder of the game. Enhancements to the game like visuals, strategies and levels have been customized as well, but it all still has the same purpose as far as completing the different levels is concerned.

Regardless of the new features that Nintendo has applied to this famous arcade game from way years back, it is still something that has a following, a reason to why this game has still been in the minds of most gamers today.

Popular Science cites Wii

November 30, 2006 | Posted by sharker in News, Wii

If there is one next generation console that I am really anticipating with the utmost excitement it would have to be the Nintendo Wii. The Sony PlayStation 3 may be more advanced, more powerful, more beautiful, more versatile but I am a practical man and I know that at this point I am not willing to shell out 600 dollars for a game console.I am anticipating the Wii mainly for two reasons – the price point is so attractive that I am willing to buy a unit at launch. This is the first time that I am buying a game console on the same day that it is going to be released. The second reason why I am excited about the Wii is the game play! I just love to try the nifty Wii-mote and see for myself how it operates and if it would really revolutionize the way we play games.

And I am not the only one that has these same opinions about the Wii. Popular Science Magazine recently awarded the Nintendo Wii its Grand Award in its Home Entertainment section. The award is part of the magazine’s yearly technology innovation roundup.

Popular Science cited the Wii for allowing people to go back to “simpler era.”

The widely read and highly respected Popular Science magazine has given the Nintendo Wii the nod by awarding it the “Grand Award” in the Home Entertainment section of its annual technology innovation roundup.

The magazine chose the Wii because it took them back to a simpler era – a time when, as the magazine said, games were fun, controllers only had two buttons and controlling games was simple.

It really is turning out to be a great decision for Nintendo to not get into the graphics war and instead focus on the game play .

PS3 to lead Wii by end-2007?

October 15, 2006 | Posted by sharker in New Games, News, Nintendo, Playstation 3, Wii

During the 2006 Tokyo Game Show, Sony announced to the public that it was going to bring down the price of the lower end model of the PlayStation 3 in Japan. The price drop will make the 20gb version of the console cost around 49,980 yen (about $429) when it goes on sale in November 11 in Japan.

With the recent announcement, various analysts in North America, where the same model of the PS3 will cost $499, were initially skeptical of the move and many saw it as a sign of weakness on the part of the company as well as a questionable business decision.

But the likelihood is that the price drop is just a sign of things to come. The Nihon Keizai Shimbun cited a study made by Enterbrain, Inc. (the publisher of Famitsu) that it is expecting more price reductions as well as a more expanded software catalog for the PS3 by the end of the 2007 holiday season.

Because of this, Enterbrain predicts that the PS3 will outsell its biggest rival in the Japanese market, the Nintendo Wii by the end of next year.
