With the vast array of gaming consoles that we hear today such as PlayStation, Xbox and Gamecube, Wii has weathered away from the congested fight for the best gaming console in the aspect of graphics and game play. Wii caters more to a user friendly environment, not immediately emphasizing on the impressive graphics 3 dimensional play and noted games that we hear today.

Wii targets the family to play as one and not for the satisfaction level of only one person in a household. Wii is bordering in between the line of PS3 and Xbox, but the logic of gaming is still the essential part of the Nintendo group. Coming with the features that all game consoles would usually have today such as video outputs, main memory and add-on features such as game controllers and Wi-Fi capability.
Wii is surely a must for a family activity adventure at home, notably in the line of gaming today. This new recreational setup is sure to be a good buy for families that look towards gaming as a means of family recreation today.

Call them expensive and more of a necessity brought about by the growing demand for gaming in the world today, the prices for owning a brand new one is not appealing to most. Some would resort to waiting for second hand items to purchase, since in most cases, 40% will be expected to be taken out from its original purchase price.

Such can be seen in the Sony PlayStation series. Notable among the list is the PS3 that demands outrageous amounts to be shelved to own one. But there are still the past Sony consoles as the original PlayStation and PlayStation 2. Both these past devices still hold the same quality and game play, but for the technology conscious who want to be recognized as the first person to own them is surely something that can be said for chosen and financially fortunate groups.

Today, using money on the proper essentials today needs to be done carefully. Gaming consoles are used as a leisure and active family team building tool. But for them to be considered by families, the rate at which they can be bought needs to be re-evaluated since not all can spare money to buy one PlayStation Unit today.

Everybody is familiar with the hit animated movie Cars, and just like most movies that have become hits, corresponding PlayStation 2 games would usually not be far behind. While the game developers had originally intended this game to be for the children, the twists and the actual on-game options have made it attractable towards the adults as well.

Graphics wise, nothing much can be said since the game truly captures the masterfully created characters in the game like Lightning McQueen and Mater. Versus and Story Mode are among the options that somehow provide the actual storyline of the movie, but needing to go through the usual levels and stages to finish the storyline similar to most stories.
Visual presentation may be aimed at the younger gamers, but as far as game strategy and game play, it is still the regular gamers that would enjoy the packaged game on their PS2 consoles. Also, the unlockable arenas, characters and secrets are available as well, something that the mature gamers will want to discover as well.

The drama, intensity and the energy of college basketball can now be at the fingertips of Playstation 2 owners. For people who follow the college basketball leagues such as the NCAA, this new installment of the usual sports category games of Sony is a must have for them.
Sure, there will always be the much celebrated NBA Live Series where all the big names in the professional world of basketball can be heard. But stepping back a bit, some of these big names originated from college basketball, and to see how the atmosphere and level of competition is different from professional basketball will surely be something worth the experience.
With the different modes available, College Hoops 2007 provides players with the option to play such as legacy and versus mode where the college basketball atmosphere will surely pump the adrenaline of game play. While some critics have labeled this game as almost similar to that of College Hoops 2006, everything would depend on the player behind the PS2 controller and how he approaches PS2 games, regardless of such similarities and features from sequels.

So Sony has launched another contraption for its avid gaming followers and it really does cost a lot! While the Playstation series has been obviously something that most people are getting attached to, the cost of purchasing one may need to be looked at again. The suggest retail price for owning a Playstation 3 at the moment stands between $500.00 to $600.00 in the market and for sure, only a few can afford to shell out some cash just to buy this new gaming console launched by Sony for its seventh generation era video game console last November 11, 2006.
The price may be outrageous but the need to analyze its feasibility may be studied. For one, the games available for use with this new Playstation are only a handful. Perhaps the only possible thing that potential buyers would aim for is the distinction of owning the new device ahead of others. But isn’t this the same belief when the Playstation 2 was also launched some years back? One thing that should also be taken into consideration is the fact that people would wait for the price to drop before finally getting their own Playstation 3 device. As it stands, its current price will not attract purchases, considering that most consumers today would rather invest their hard earned money on the more important necessities of life today!

As part of its participation in the Gamers’ Day event being held in San Francisco, Sony finally revealed the first accessories that will be made available for the PlayStation 3. The first batch of add ons for the console, which will be launched in the US on November 17, will be relatively modest and would consist of only four devices. The first accessory announced is the PS3 HDMI cable, an accessory that will be needed to get the vaunted 1080p resolution in high definition televisions. The cable was removed from the basic PS3 package much to the consternation of many gamers. The cable will be selling for $49.99, which is so much higher than the price of HDMI cables available in audio/video stores.
Another accessory is the PS3 Memory Card Adapter that will retail $14.99. The adaptor is not needed for saving PS3 games but it is required for loading saved games from PS2 and PlayStation memory cards.
The PS3′s Sixaxis controller will also be selling for $49.99 each. It has a built in Bluetooth wireless connectivity to the PS3 and can support up to seven controllers at once.
The most significant part of the announcement though is that Sony is planning to bundle a single Blu-ray movie with each PS3 for a limited time, much like what it did with PSP when it was released in 2005.

During the 2006 Tokyo Game Show, Sony announced to the public that it was going to bring down the price of the lower end model of the PlayStation 3 in Japan. The price drop will make the 20gb version of the console cost around 49,980 yen (about $429) when it goes on sale in November 11 in Japan.
With the recent announcement, various analysts in North America, where the same model of the PS3 will cost $499, were initially skeptical of the move and many saw it as a sign of weakness on the part of the company as well as a questionable business decision.
But the likelihood is that the price drop is just a sign of things to come. The Nihon Keizai Shimbun cited a study made by Enterbrain, Inc. (the publisher of Famitsu) that it is expecting more price reductions as well as a more expanded software catalog for the PS3 by the end of the 2007 holiday season.
Because of this, Enterbrain predicts that the PS3 will outsell its biggest rival in the Japanese market, the Nintendo Wii by the end of next year.
