Even Game-Addicts Need Sleep

August 26, 2011 By sharker

The thing about being too engaged in newly purchased game consoles such as the Playstation and Xbox consoles is that time flies when you are having fun. A game console aimed for all ages, people are too glued to their television playing their favorite games such as NBA Live, Tekken or even Gran Turismo that they end up lacking sleep from playing until the wee hours of the morning.

Sleep Disorder due to Gaming

Such produces a hypnotic type of a trance for gamers that simply want to complete a level or stage in storylines that these games have to offer. The game developers are not to be blamed since it is really their job to make the game as addicting as possible.

Self-discipline among the people who endorse and play this game should be done internally. It is their duty to ensure that they know when to stop even if they don’t want to. Besides, they can pull-it out anytime they wish to, when they have nothing else to do in real life.

August 19, 2010 By sharker

Among the notable games that are coming out would be the off-shoot of popular sports and athletics such as the NBA, NFL and the NHL. These sporting events usually lead the headlines of the newspaper sports headlines and people are given the opportunity to be able to experience them through developed games in the various game consoles of the Playstation and Xbox series.

Each game comes with the usual updated player rosters, teams, statistics and signature moves that players are known for. Games like NBA Live and Madden Football also have the feature of a dynasty or story mode which allows controllers to be able to dictate and follow the development and evolution of their created or existing players throughout their career. Completing the Gaming Experience with Modified Controllers and Gears

June 30, 2010 By sharker

There are a lot of things an addicted gamer would prefer for his game console. Regardless if this is a PlayStation, Nintendo, Gamebox or personal computer games, add-ons in the form of steering wheel controllers, dance pads and higher capacity memory cards will always be available for expansion.

Some people would be content by merely having the basic gaming unit and satisfying themselves with the available options a game would have. But sooner or later, depending on the game genre that they are looking at, upgrades and improvements to their current setup will surely ensue.

Advanced Game Requirements

There is no question that a gaming experience would increase the ante of requirements to play the game at a higher level. Such an occurrence will only be normal because this is what game developers aim to achieve. Higher requirements in the form of required controllers and hardware requirements will only be normal. The advanced a game becomes, the higher the need for advanced requirements as well.

Kids And Their Consoles

June 24, 2010 By sharker

Talk about people having nothing better to do! A group of researchers released a report regarding how game console branding affected the psychological responses of children. For boys, they compared the effects of Microsoft’s Xbox and Sony’s PlayStation. For girls, they compared the effects of Barbie and Bratz dolls.

The results of their study showed that the Xbox affected the little boys more strongly in that they felt more empowered and self-confident. On the other hand, after viewing the Xbox system, the same boys also became more distrustful as compared to the boys who viewed the PlayStation. It was not disclosed if there was a difference between the Xbox, Xbox360, PlayStation 1, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation 3.

The conclusion? Psychology plays a key role in branding and marketing. I was wondering, though. How would you translate these findings in the real world? Would boys who use the Xbox be really more confident in their daily activities? Would they also be really more distrustful of those around them? Another thing, I wonder what their findings would have been if they had the little girls play with the different consoles rather than the dolls? Last, I wonder how parents would react to these findings?

Oh by the way, these little boys and girls may not be little after all. The research group didn’t give any details as to their age group as well as to the number of subjects they carried out the study on.

This gives me an idea. Why don’t we try a little experiment on our own? Try playing with the Xbox and the PlayStation and see how they affect us?

It is quite obvious that the higher fine graphic turnout has become the darling of most game enthusiasts today. While it is true that preference for overall game play is important for hardcore gamers today, these are sometimes overshadowed by high resolution graphics that people get people glued to the fine graphic representations used in most games like role playing and sports games today.

Game Graphics

There have been a number of revisions on games today, a lot of where improvement in representation once the game console is in use can be significantly noticed. War games, sports and arcade games have been the sought after preferences in demands for gaming preference today.

Film Clips from Movie Game Counterparts

March 14, 2007 By sharker

Once a good movie that has caught so much attention is about to hit the theaters, people would do anything to find out what the possible storylines, twists and character roles in the movie would be. For hit movies, there would usually be corresponding games in the playstation 2 series such as Lord of the Rings, Cars, Matrix and so on where players are given missions and tasks to take on certain levels.

Return of the King

To spice up the game, short film clips of the movie are inserted where players can somehow depict each of the scenes shown and somehow be able to analyze and get an idea of what the whole storyline is all about. Tricky as it may seem but some people can even get the gist of the movie based on factual trailers. It is these trailers which have been placed strategically for interactive purposes and to easily understand the main objective of goals to achieve per level during game play.
